SOUTH CHARLESTON, West Virginia — The WVU Tech (10-0, 3-0 KIAC) men's soccer team earned their tenth consecutive win with a 4-0 shutout over KIAC member Asbury University (2-7, 0-1 KIAC) Tuesday afternoon.
"This was another good game for us," boasted junior captain
Drew Lytton. "Our forwards came out and played excellent. The first half especially, we gave a good effort, we put three goals in and we really took control of the game there."
Tech picked up the victory due to goals by sophomore
Francisco Neto (17' and 90'), freshman
Harry Reilly (30') and sophomore
Jose Segarra (90'). Neto has marked 13 goals in 2015 and is currently ranked ninth in the NAIA DI with total goals.
The assists were credited to juniors
Daniel Ramirez,
Joaquin Rodriguez and
Prince Idornigie.
Junior goalkeeper
Hunter Moles (6-0) and this week's KIAC Defensive Player of the Week was given the shutout after 45 minutes of play in the first half.
The Gold and Blue return to the field October 12 to host Washington Adventist University at the Trace Fork Soccer Complex in South Charleston, West Virginia.
