RIO GRANDE, Ohio — The WVU Tech men's soccer team fell to No. 1 University of Rio Grande in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC) Final Saturday evening, 3-1.

The Golden Bears, who entered the conference tournament as the No. 2 seed, have a record of 16-2 this season.

Rio scored all three goals before sophomore Francisco Neto found the back of the net off a penalty kick in the 84^th minute.

Neto led the team with six shots (two on goal) while senior Sam Laughton had two shots (one on goal).

The team currently holds six top-five rankings in NAIA DI play including No. 1 in shots on goal per game (14.38), No. 2 in shots per game (24.5) and goals per game (4.56), No. 3 in assists per game (3.69), No. 4 in total assists (59) and No. 5 in total goals (73).
