PORTSMOUTH, Ohio — The WVU Tech men's basketball team lost to Shawnee State University 64-55 Sunday afternoon in the Waller Gymnasium. The Golden Bears are now 2-3 this season while the Bears stay perfect at 2-0.
Tech had three players in double-figures with junior
Paul Stone posting a game-high 17 points to go with the contest's top marks in rebounds with 13. The Danville, Virginia native also grabbed a game-high three steals.
Sophomore
Ryan Atkins marked 13 points and senior
Eddie Gordon had 12 points to round out Tech's top offensive contributors.
Junior
Matthew Kallead and
Patrick Gnagbo pulled down five boards each.
The Golden Bears headed into halftime with a 32-26 lead over their opponent who went on a 25-4 run against Tech in the second half to secure a win.
The team will return to the hardwood Saturday, November 14 when they travel to NCAA DI University of Toledo for a 2:30 p.m. tip off.
