MONTGOMERY, West Virginia — At the conclusion of the 2015 Baisi Classic, WVU Tech men's basketball fell to University of the Cumberlands, 77-74. The Golden Bears went 1-1 during the classic, defeating Bethel University Saturday 77-72 and now hold a record of 8-5 this season.
In a game that featured eight lead changes and 11 tied scores Tech shot 45.6 percent (31-for-68) while the Patriots shot 48.3 percent (28-for-58) from the field. Tech's opponent was an efficient 50.0 percent (11-for-22) from three-point range in the contest.
The Gold and Blue did hold the advantage in points off turnovers (13-12), second chance points (23-16) and points in the paint (46-30).

Paul Stone and sophomore guard
Ryan Atkins were responsible for the majority of the Golden Bears points Saturday afternoon.
Stone totaled a game-high 27 points on 12-of-16 shooting from the field including a perfect 3-for-3 effort from the foul line. The Danville, Virginia native posted his sixth double-double this season by pulling down a team-high 11 rebounds while also blocking a game-high four balls.
Atkins produced 21 points after going 8-for-21 from the field and just missed a double-double of his own with nine rebounds.
Sophomore forward
Juwuan Wilson saw 26 minutes of play, scoring seven points and grabbing six boards.
Cumberlands was led by D'Lando Carter with 19 points.
Next up, Tech will host Indiana University Southeast for a KIAC contest December 19.
