MOREHEAD, Kentucky - The WVU Tech baseball team lost at NCAA DI Morehead State University Tuesday evening, 7-4. With the loss, the Golden Bears now hold a record of 22-19, the Eagles improve to 22-13.
Entering the game, the Eagles had three wins over the University of San Diego and a victory over the University of Tennessee. Morehead is currently tied with the University of Illinois in the Nation (NCAA DI) with the longest win streak of 11.
The Golden Bears held a 5-4 lead heading into the bottom of the fifth inning before the Eagles posted three runs to finish the inning and one more insurance run in the bottom of eight for the 7-4 win.
Tech starter junior
Josh Hudson (2-3) finished on the mound after 4.0 innings of work with six earned runs on eight hits, striking out three opponents.
At the plate, junior
Hugo Rodriguez and sophomore
Trevor Lam led the way, each tallying two hits and an RBI. Rodriguez finished with one of each, double, sacrifice fly, stolen base and run scored while Lam marked two doubles for the Golden Bears.
The Gold and Blue are scheduled to travel to Ohio Christian University for two games Friday in Circleville, Ohio, first pitch set for 1:00 p.m.
