Tech Softball Takes Series From Ohio Christian

CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio - The WVU Tech softball team took their first complete series victory of the season, defeating Ohio Christian University 8-2 and 8-7 Saturday afternoon in Circleville, Ohio. The Golden Bears boost their record to 9-17 while the Trailblazers fall to 7-21.

Junior Stephanie Seewer registered her first triple of the season and 18th hit while scoring a run for Tech in the game one victory.

Senior Kat Lively, junior Genna Trippett and freshman MiKayla Craze finished with two hits a piece, each marking an RBI while Lively crossed the plate to mark a run for the Golden Bears.

In the circle, Trippett (1-4) held the Trailblazers to just four hits in 5.0 innings of work, striking out four batters while giving up just one earned run. Sophomore Mackenzie Wilson finished the game (2.0 innings) with four strike outs, giving up just one hit.

Game Two | WVU Tech 8, Ohio Christian 7 (Box Score)
The Golden Bears had six players tally at least one hit, including two each from Lively, Trippett and junior Megan Blythe. Blythe finished with a double and four of Tech's six runs batted in.

Trippett hit her fourth home run of the season, marking an RBI and a run scored in the victory.

Wilson (6-6) drew the start for the Gold and Blue, pitching 5.2 innings, scattering six hits and three earned runs while striking out three batters. Freshman Kyla Shull saw 1.1 innings of work, striking out one while giving up two hits.

Tech will next head to Davis & Elkins College April 21 for two games, first pitch scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
