BECKLEY, West Virginia — The WVU Tech women's soccer team earned their third consecutive win with a 3-0 shutout over Montreat College (North Carolina) Saturday afternoon. The Golden Bears (4-1, 0-1 KIAC) have matched the number of regular season wins total in 2014 very early in this year's campaign.
"We want to win, we have heart and we have really good talent," boasted senior goalkeeper
Sydney Schaeffer. "It feels great, I think the momentum is going to take us well into the KIAC tournament and I think we are going to have an outstanding season."
Tech picked up the victory due to goals by junior captain
Alyssa Capon (20'), freshman
Brianna Enger (63') with her fourth of the season and sophomore
Tristen Kilman (68'). Kilman also marked the assist with a cross to Enger in the
second half.
Schaeffer (2-0) was given the shutout win after 90 minutes of play and a save for the Golden Bears.
The Gold and Blue return to the field September 17 to face Midway College (Kentucky). Kickoff in Midway, Kentucky is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
