YORK, Pennsylvania — The WVU Tech men's soccer team moved to 4-0 in 2015 with a 4-1 victory over Penn State York (2-3) Friday afternoon to complete the sweep on their four-game USCAA road trip. Earlier this week, Tech defeated Penn State Brandywine (9-0), University of Maine at Fort Kent (2-1) and Bryant & Stratton-Syracuse (2-1).
The Golden Bears saw goals from sophomore
Scott Brown (23'), junior
Daniel Ramirez (48') and two penalty kicks made by sophomore
Francisco Neto (60' and 67'). Ramirez found the back of the net with a header off the assist from freshman
Harry Reilly.
Neto now has six goals this season and is currently ranked No. 3 in NAIA DI for goals per game (2.0). The Rio de Janeiro, Brazil native is also ranked No. 5 in shots on goal per game (3.5), points per game (4.0) and shots per game (6.0).
Next up for the team will be their home opener against Milligan College in Beckley, West Virginia at the YMCA Paul Cline Memorial Complex on September 22. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
