BECKLEY, West Virginia — The WVU Tech men's soccer team stayed undefeated in 2015, 5-0, with a 4-1 victory over Milligan College (2-8, 1-1 KIAC) in a non-conference NAIA match-up.
"It was a really competitive game, they pushed us more then the score line suggested," said interim head coach
John Dunn. "I thought we did a great job and got a great win."
The Golden Bears saw goals from junior
Saul Montealegre (15'), junior
Matias Gandulfo (38') and two goals made off of free kicks from sophomore
Francisco Neto (50') and junior captain
Drew Lytton (88').
Tech assists were credited to senior
Raul Martin who connected with Montealegre and junior
Joaquin Rodriguez who sent Gandulfo the perfect pass.
"It's team work, we start the defensive job from the center forward all the way to the keeper," boasted Martin. "We are playing really good defensive games."
The Gold and Blue will next face Illinois Tech in Chicago, Illinois, Friday. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
