CHICAGO, Illinois — WVU Tech men's soccer moved to 6-0 and stayed undefeated in 2015 with a 6-1 victory over Illinois Tech Friday in Chicago, Illinois at Stuart Field.
Just 16 minutes into the contest, sophomore
Francisco Neto connected with junior
Daniel Ramirez to help assist in the first goal of the game. Less than two minutes later, senior
Sam Laughton assisted freshman
Harry Reilly on marking his fourth goal of the season (18').
Freshmen
Tyrone Madhani and
Matias Pazos posted a goal each in the first half, sending the Golden Bears into the last half of play with a 4-1 lead. Junior
Joaquin Rodriguez and Ramirez were credited with an assist for Madhani's score (27') while Ramirez also helped Pazos find the back of the net (39').
The final two Gold and Blue goals were posted by Neto (47' and 72'). The Rio de Janeiro, Brazil native has nine goals this season and ranks number eight in NAIA DI for goals per game (1.5), number nine in points per game (3.33) and number ten in total goals (9).
