EMORY, Virginia — The WVU Tech volleyball team dropped a pair of matches Saturday afternoon to host school, Emory & Henry College (3-0) and Eastern Mennonite University (3-0). The Golden Bears are now 1-12, 0-3 (KIAC) in 2015.
Tech dropped match one versus Eastern Mennonite with scores of 25-14, 25-15, 25-19. In the nightcap, the Gold and Blue fell 25-16, 25-22 and 26-24.
Freshman
Madeline Gilson had a career day, posting a career-high 21 digs against Emory & Henry while marking 11 digs in the match with Eastern Mennonite.
The team faced Eastern Mennonite first, producing 21 kills as a team compared to their opponent's 32. The Golden Bears also marked 42 digs and 20 assists.
In match two, Emory & Henry outhit Tech with 39 kills compared to 28. WVU Tech had 57 digs and 24 assists.
The squad will return to action next Tuesday whent hey travel to the University of Rio Grande.
