RIO GRANDE, Ohio — WVU Tech volleyball was defeated by fellow KIAC member University of Rio Grande in a non-conference match-up Tuesday evening, 3-0. The Golden Bears are now 1-13, 0-3 (KIAC) this season while the RedStorm improved to 10-3, 2-1 (KIAC).
Tech combined for 22 kills during the match while Rio tallied 40 in their win over the Gold and Blue, 25-15, 25-20 and 25-14.
Junior
Keyonna Morrow led the team with seven kills. Fellow classmate
Michala Dean tallied a team-high three aces to go with four kills and two assists. Senior
Jaymee Hannan recorded the most assists for Tech with nine while freshman
Madeline Gilson marked 11 digs for the Golden Bears.
The team continues play Saturday when they host Appalachian Bible College and Indiana University Southeast in a tri-match, action starts at 11:00 a.m. in the Baisi Athletic Center.
