BECKLEY, West Virginia - Women's soccer of WVU Tech (2-1, 0-1 KIAC) defeated NCAA DII foe Ohio Valley University in extra minutes, 2-1 Thursday. The Golden Bears have taken all three games this season to overtime, defeating Milligan College (2-1) and falling to fellow conference member, Rio Grande (3-2).
Ohio Valley got on top first, marking a goal in the seventh minute off a penalty kick before sophomore
Tristen Kilman scored for Tech (44') off the assist of junior
Alex Blumer to knot the score and ultimately send the squads into overtime.
Sophomore
Ruby Bingham hit the golden goal in minute 95 for the win, recording her second score this season.
As a team, the Gold and Blue had 33 shots, 16 on goal compared to their opponent's five shots (two on goal). Tech also held the advantage in corner kicks (11-0).
In goal, senior
Sydney Schaeffer (1-0) recorded a save in the win while the defense helped hold the Fighting Scots to minimal scoring opportunities, allowing just two shots on goal.
