- Split 1-1 Saturday in River States Conference (RSC) action with a 3-0 loss to Point Park University before defeating Carlow University 3-0.
- The Pioneers took the first match with scores of 25-23, 25-16 and 25-10. Tech defeated the Celtics 25-23, 25-23 and 25-20.
- In the win, sophomore Kayla Hill and senior Keyonna Morrow led the attack with eight kills each.
- Freshman Carolina Bologna finished with seven kills while sophomore Ana Monteiro and freshman Emily Kidd had six each.
- Freshman Konstantina Pateli put out 29 assists to lead the match while picking up eight digs.
- On defense, senior libero Michala Dean had a match-high 23 digs while Monteiro posted 13 digs.
- At the net, Bologna finished with four block assists and a block solo.

LAST GAME
- Went to double overtime with River States Conference (RSC) foe Ohio Christian University and ended in a 1-1 tie Saturday.
- Tech was trailing 1-0 for the most of the game until the 88th minute when freshman Miriam Cortez sent the perfect pass to fellow classmate Hailey Couchman for the equalizer.
- In overtime, the Gold and Blue were held shotless while the Trailblazers got off four shots but were not able to convert on them.
- Junior goalkeeper Martha Reyna (6-4-2) played 110 minutes and allowed one goal while making seven saves.

LAST GAME
- WVU Tech men's soccer is enjoying an eight game winning streak after defeating Ohio Christian University 2-0 in a River States Conference (RSC) contest Saturday evening.
- Both scores came from freshman Ignacio Tellechea who converted on penalty kicks.
- Tellechea's first score was in the third minute while the final goal of the game came in minute 34.
- The team led with shots (10) and shots on goal (5) compared to Ohio Christian's three shots (three on goal).
- The Trailblazers held the advantage in corner kicks, 3-2.
- Senior goalkeeper Hunter Moles (11-1-1) stopped three balls in the win after 90 minutes of defending the net.

LAST MEET
- Men's swimming finished second and the women's squad finished fifth at the West Virginia State Games hosted by Marshall University October 7-8, 2016.
- The men were led by sophomore Kohen Kerr, junior Geoffroy Gauneau and freshman Manuel Laguna Gomez.
- Kerr earned 43 points for the Golden Bears while Gauneau and Gomez garnered 26 and 21 points respectively.
- Kerr finished second in the 50 yard Freestyle (21.48) and third in the 100 yard Freestyle (48.05).
- He was also a part of the 200 yard Medley Relay team with Gauneau, sophomore Arthur Bertrand and freshman Paulo Dias that touched second with a time of 1:36.34.
- Gauneau swam to a fourth place finish in the 200 yard Butterfly with a time of 2:00.38.
- Gomez helped lead the 800 yard Freestyle Relay team to a second place finish with a time of 7:19.57 with teammates juniors Manuel Serrano Laguna and Jesus Ballesteros and freshman Felipe Ruiz.
- For the women, junior Kendra Monnin led the way with 24 points.
- Monnin along with sophomores Mariana Loureiro and Isabela Kiesewetter Zandavalli and senior Francine Meyer finished fourth with a time of 3:38.99 in the 400 yard Freestyle Relay.
- The same team also picked up a fourth place finish in the 800 yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 8:19.89.
