- WVU Tech volleyball has moved to .500 (5-5) in River States Conference (RSC) play and 17-12 overall after earning five-set battles over Indiana University East and Ohio Christian University Saturday afternoon.
- The Golden Bears first defeated the Red Wolves with scores of 25-23, 24-26, 28-26, 15-25 and 15-12 before taking the match from the Trailblazers 25-23, 22-25, 20-25, 25-19 and 17-15.
- Tech is now third in the standings for the East Division of the RSC.
- Point Park University is in first with a conference record of 9-1 while the University of Rio Grande holds the second spot with a record of 6-3.

- Still undefeated in River States Conference play as they move to 2-0-2, 7-4-2 overall after a 1-0 victory over the University of Rio Grande Thursday evening at the YMCA Paul Cline Memorial Complex.
- The teams remained scoreless in the first 75 minutes of play until senior Alex Blumer found sophomore Caitlin Foster's feet for the score.
- Foster posted her fourth goal this season while Blumer earned her second assist in 2016.
- Freshman Hailey Couchman and junior Olivia Mantohbang had two shots on goal each to the lead the team.
- Junior goalkeeper Martha Reyna is now 7-4-2 defending the net after one save in 90 minutes of play.
- The Gold and Blue held the advantage in shots (18-2) and corner kicks (7-1).

LAST GAME
- In the River States Conference Game of the Week and Top 25 NAIA play, No. 13 WVU Tech men's soccer and No. 2 University of Rio Grande ended in a 1-1 draw after a double overtime battle Thursday evening.
- The Golden Bears are now 11-1-2, 3-0-1 (RSC) in 2016 while the RedStorm hold a record of 11-1-1, 3-0-1 (RSC).
- Rio Grande struck first, posting a quick goal from Lucas Talaveira in the third minute of regulation.
- Tech scored the equalizer at 53:20 when freshman Ignacio Tellechea posted his 14th goal this season unassisted.
- Defense ruled the rest of the game as neither team was able to score again even with extra time.
- The Gold and Blue outshot Rio Grande 13-10 while the RedStorm held the advantage in corner kicks, 7-3.
- Tellechea led the team with three shots on goal while senior Daniel Ramirez recorded one.
- In goal, senior Hunter Moles (11-1-2) played all 110 minutes, stopping three balls.

LAST MEET
- The WVU Tech men's cross country team ran to a 36th place finish with a team score of 920 at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic Saturday while the women's squad finished 46th and with a team score of 1309.
- Pacing the men was senior Douglas Negrete who finished with a time of 27:01.
- Following Negrete was freshman Isaiah Maddix, clocking a time of 27:25.
- Sophomore Jesse Griesheimer was Tech's next runner as he crossed the line in 28:23.
- Freshman Nicolas Brumfield finished the 8k course with a time of 29:23 and fellow classmate Luke Jobson rounded out the team's top five ending with a time of 31:21.
- Junior Nikki Aleshire was the women's top finisher, clocking a 20:46. Junior Kylie Lang was Tech's next finisher with a time of 22:06 while sophomore Katie Ervin and senior Atiyyah Herron were the third and fourth Golden Bears to cross the finish line with times of 22:15 and 22:37 respectively.
- Sophomore Seirra Seay (24:47) and junior Cheyenne Davis (26:52) rounded out the finishers for the Gold and Blue.
