Tech Battles Back for 2-1 Victory Over Point Park

BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech men's soccer battled back in the last 12 minutes of the River States Conference contest against Point Park University Thursday evening to earn a 2-1 victory. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 12-1-2 overall and stay undefeated in conference play, 4-0-1 (RSC). The Pioneers are 7-7-1, 2-4 (RSC) in 2016.

Tech was down 1-0 in the 78th minute before freshman Carlos Tormo found the back of the net off the assist from sophomore Alvaro Adan.

Junior Francisco Neto connected with senior Daniel Ramirez off a corner kick in minute 88 to mark the assist. Ramirez headed in the game-winning goal, marking his sixth this season.

The Golden Bears held the advantage in shots (22-2) and corner kicks (11-1).

Senior goalkeeper Hunter Moles (12-1-2) allowed just one goal in 90 minutes of play.

The Gold and Blue will continue RSC play Saturday when they travel to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to face Carlow University at 8 p.m.
