MOUNT VERNON, Ohio -- WVU Tech men's basketball dropped a road contest to (RV) Mount Vernon Nazarene University Wednesday evening in an offensively charged game, 98-85. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 2-2 while the Cougars improve to 6-1 with the victory.

Kievonn Banks finished with a double-double effort of 17 points and a game-high 11 rebounds including seven offensive boards. Junior
Ryan Atkins led the team with 20 points while pulling down eight rebounds, grabbing a game-high four steals and dishing three assists.

Elisha Boone also hit double-digits in the loss, posting 12 points, six rebounds and a team-high four assists. Freshman

Enson Garcia had nine points each to round out Tech's top offensive coordinators.
The team shot 47.6 percent (30-for-63) from the field while the Cougars finished with a 51.5 percent (34-for-66) effort from the field. Tech just barely held the advantage in rebounds 36-35 while also holding advantage in second chance points (14-10), bench points (37-36), points in the paint (46-42) and fast break points (7-0).
Up next, the Gold and Blue will travel to Kingsport, Tennessee for the NAIA DII Showcase where they will face Southeastern University and Milligan College Saturday and Sunday respectively.
