Brooke Gee was one rebound from a double-double with 11 points and nine boards and WVU Tech women's basketball dropped a 54-44 decision at Bluefield College Wednesday evening. The Golden Bears are now 0-3 this season while the Rams hold a record of 2-0.
Gee finished 4-for-7 from the field while sophomore
Savannah Shamblin finished 5-for-12 from the field towards her 11 points. Senior
Cheyanna Lusk and junior
Brett Justice both finished with six points while pulling down five boards.
On defense, Lusk grabbed five steals to go with one block while Shamblin marked three steals in the loss.
The Gold and Blue went 17-for-55 (30.9 percent) from the field while the Rams finished 18-for-57 (31.6 percent) in a defense-driven game.
Tech held the advantage in second chance points, 8-4 while Bluefield led with 10 points off turnovers compared to the Golden Bears' eight.
The team will be looking for that first win this season when they travel to Johnson & Wales Charlotte to face Penn State Worthington Scranton Friday and Penn State Fayette on Saturday.
