Box Score CHARLOTTE, North Carolina -- WVU Tech women's basketball captured their first victory of 2016 with a score of 81-37 against Penn State Worthington Scranton Friday afternoon. The Golden Bears are now 1-3 this season while the Lady Lions hold a record of 0-1.

Senior Cheyanna Lusk led Tech with 17 points while dishing out four assists, grabbing four steals, and pulling down five rebounds in the win.

Sophomore Savannah Shamblin was 6-for-8 from the field towards her 14 points. Shamblin also posted a game-high six steals to go with three assists and three rebounds. Fellow classmate Alexandra Combs recorded 13 points to round out Tech's top offensive contributors.

Senior Brooke Gee pulled down a game-high seven boards and scored six points for Tech while sophomore Zjhane West led the way in the competition with seven assists. West also had eight points, five rebounds and four steals.

As a team, Tech finished 35-for-75 (46.7 percent) from the field while combining for 41 rebounds. Tech also forced 30 Lady Lion miscues while grabbing 18 steals.

The Gold and Blue will continue play in the J&W Tip Off in Charlotte, North Carolina tomorrow, Saturday when they face Penn State Fayette at 1 p.m.
