HICO, West Virginia — The WVU Tech softball team secured a doubleheader split versus Bluefield College Saturday afternoon at Midland Trail High School in Hico, West Virginia by downing the Rams, 6-4 before dropping the night cap, 6-5.
The Golden Bears' record now stands at 6-6 while the Rams move to 8-12.

Skylar Connelly led the game off with a solo home run and senior
Genna Trippett knocked a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth to help lead Tech to the victory. Trippett finished 3-for-3 at the plate including a double to go with three RBIs and a run. Connelly marked two hits, producing a RBI and a run scored.
Freshman
Rachel Rusch posted a triple while marking two hits and a run scored and senior
Breigh Renner marked two RBI on one hit to round out Tech's top offensive contributors.
Junior
Mackenzie Wilson (2-2) scored the win in the circle, pitching 5.1 innings while striking out one batter. Freshman
Becky Rusch drew the start, retiring three Rams while scattering four hits and three earned runs.

Megan Blythe both had a multi-hit game for Tech. Rusch had three hits, one RBI and crossed the plate three times while Blythe had two hits and drove in two runs.
Connelly and sophomore
Kayla Harbin knocked doubles in the loss.
The Golden Bears will return to action tomorrow, Sunday when they travel to Berea College for a doubleheader scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
