Tech Grabs One Win at Indiana University Southeast

NEW ALBANY, Indiana — The WVU Tech baseball team defeated Indiana University Southeast 3-2 Saturday in the final game of a four-game series after falling 1-0 in today's first contest. The Golden Bears are now 9-3 in conference (KIAC) play and 17-5 overall while the Grenadiers are 13-9, 7-1 (KIAC).

In the final game of the series, senior Kyle Sager (4-0) threw for 4.0 innings, striking out five batters for the win. Junior Tanner Levine was awarded the save after 1.0 inning and a strike out.

Senior Doug Prather registered two hits and the Golden Bears finished with six total hits in the loss.

On the mound, junior Chris Davidson (3-2) had seven strike outs while scattering four hits and one earned run for the loss.

GAME Two | WVU Tech 3, IU Southeast 2 | Box Score

The runs driven in by junior Brady Groesbeck (2 RBIs) and Prather (1 RBI) led to Tech's only victory of the series, 3-2.

Prather had a multi-hit game, finishing 2-for-4 at the plate while Groesbeck posted one hit.

Senior Brandon Tucker put in 2.0 innings of work on the bump, finishing with two hits, one earned run and a strike out. Sager gave up three hits and one earned run and stayed perfect on the mound, 4-0.
