PIKEVILLE, Kentucky — The WVU Tech baseball team recorded their third straight series sweep and moved their winning streak to 11 games as they took both ends of a doubleheader with the University of Pikeville. The Golden Bears (12-2) shut out the Bears (10-7) 6-0 in game one and took the nightcap 10-4.
Tech was trailing 4-3 as they headed into the top of the seventh inning in game two when the team exploded for seven runs on six hits for the eventual 10-4 win.

Jeinson Espinosa and
Tommy Weaver recorded multi-hit games, both going 2-for-3 at the plate while Weaver drove in three runs and Espinosa had two RBIs.
Fellow classmate
Doug Prather knocked a double to record two RBIs and runs. Espinosa and junior
Marcus Rodriguez also posted doubles.
Junior
Jayson Sykora (2-0) pitched a complete game for the victory, giving up just five hits while striking out one batter.

On the mound, senior
Brandon Tucker (1-0-1) earned the W, doing 2.2 innings of work while giving up just three hits and one earned run. Weaver drew the start and pitched 4.1 innings, scattering four hits, three earned runs and two strike outs.
The team will next play host to Brescia University this Saturday and Sunday in East Bank, West Virginia at the Douglas M. Epling Field.
