LAURINBURG, North Carolina — WVU Tech baseball defeated St. Andrews University in game one 10-7 before taking the doubleheader in the nightcap, 6-3. The Golden Bears improve to 31-12 with their 31
st win marking the most in program history, surpassing the record set in 2015 when Tech finished the season 30-25.
The team, who is enjoying a 13-game winning streak, also set program records this season with the most consecutive wins (15 established March 11, 2016) and the most runs scored (23 vs. Cincinnati Christian, April 15, 2016).

Seniors
Austin Southcott and
Tommy Weaver were awarded the wins on the mound Tuesday. Southcott threw for 2.2 innings in game one while Weaver put in 5.0 innings of work, combining for four strikeouts. Junir
Chris Davidson earned the save in the series finale after one inning of play.

The Gold and Blue managed six hits compared to their opponent's 12 including a three-hit third inning that garnered eight runs for Tech. The eight runs also came off of two Knight errors.

Brandon Tucker drew the start and scattered seven hits and five earned runs while striking out two batters. The Golden Bears saw relief from sophomore
Nick Brumfield, Southcott and Davidson. Southcott finished with three K's while Davidson retired one batter via strikes.

Jayson Sykora led the way for Tech, finishing 1-for-1 at the plate including three RBI and a double. Junior

Doug Prather were the only Golden Bears to finish with multi-hit games throughout the series. The two also posted a run batted in each.

The team will return to KIAC play this weekend when they play host to the University of Rio Grande for a four-game series.
