MONTGOMERY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech volleyball grabbed their fourth victory in 2016 to move to 4-2 with a 3-0 victory against Salem International University with the scores of 25-17, 25-17, 25-16.
The Golden Bears were led by junior
Bailey Lotozo who finished with a match-high 16 kills and two aces to go with four digs and a block solo. Senior
Keyonna Morrow marked 11 kills in the match.
Freshman
Konstantina Pateli brought her season total to 184 assists after dishing a match-high 23 while recording seven digs, five kills, a service ace and a block assist. Pateli currently holds three rankings in the nation (NAIA DI) including No. 3 in total service aces (21), No. 6 in service aces per game (1.180) and No. 31 in assists per game (9.470).
On defense, senior
Michala Dean led the way with 17 digs and a service ace. Sophomore
Ana Monteiro had 10 digs and two service aces in the win.
At the net, freshmen
Carolina Bologna and
Riley Bocan led the team with two block solos each while Bologna also had a block assist.
The Gold and Blue will next travel to Marietta, Ohio for the two-day River City Volleyball Tournament hosted by Marietta College Friday and Saturday. Tech is scheduled to face Kentucky Christian University, Marietta, Midway University, Bluefield College and Thiel College.
