LAWRENCEVILLE, Georgia -- Freshman
Ignacio Tellechea finished with three goals and an assist as (RV) WVU Tech men's soccer defeated (RV) Georgia Gwinnett College 4-3 Saturday afternoon in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The Golden Bears boost their record to 5-1-1 while the Grizzlies hold a 3-1-1 record in 2016.
Tellechea struck fast for Tech, finding the back of the net in minute two off an assist from junior
Francisco Neto. The Madrid, Spain native marked his other goals in minute 31 and 54.
The assist that was credited to Tellechea came in the 26
th minute when he sent the perfect pass to freshman
Eduardo Gutierrez for Tech's second goal.
The final assist of the game for Tech was earned by senior
Daniel Ramirez.
Senior
Hunter Moles (5-1-1) captured the win after 90 minutes and three saves in goal.
As a team, the Gold and Blue held the advantage in shots (14-9), shots on goal (8-6) and corner kicks (7-5).
Tech will return to action Tuesday when they host Marygrove College in Charleston, West Virginia. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
