- Extended its winning streak to four with a 3-2 victory at NCAA DIII foe Ferrum College Friday evening.
- With scores of 25-20, 16-25, 23-25, 25-21 and 15-11 the Golden Bears boost their record to 9-7 while the Panthers fall to 3-8.
- Senior Keyonna Morrow had a match-high 15 kills, freshman Konstantina Pateli set up 44 points and senior Michala Dean posted a team-high 22 digs.
- Sophomore Kayla Hill added 13 kills while freshman Carolina Bologna marked 10 kills to round out the Gold and Blue's top offensive contributors.
- On defense, freshmen Riley Bocan, Bologna and Pateli led with two blocks each while sophomore Ana Monteiro and Pateli had 14 digs.
- Currently, Pateli holds four top-50 rankings in the nation (NAIA DI) including No. 3 in total service aces (40), No. 12 in service aces per game (.700), No. 17 in total assists (500) and No. 50 in assists per game (8.770).
- Junior Bailey Lotozo also holds rankings, No. 25 in total kills (183) and No. 35 in kills per game (3.660).

LAST GAME
- Freshman Ignacio Tellechea finished with three goals and an assist as (RV) WVU Tech men's soccer defeated (RV) Georgia Gwinnett College 4-3 Saturday afternoon in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
- The Golden Bears boost their record to 5-1-1 while the Grizzlies hold a 3-1-1 record in 2016.
- Tellechea struck fast for Tech, finding the back of the net in minute two off an assist from junior Francisco Neto.
- The Madrid, Spain native marked his other goals in minute 31 and 54.
- The assist that was credited to Tellechea came in the 26th minute when he sent the perfect pass to freshman Eduardo Gutierrez for Tech's second goal.
- The final assist of the game for Tech was earned by senior Daniel Ramirez.
- Senior Hunter Moles (5-1-1) captured the win after 90 minutes and three saves in goal.
- As a team, the Gold and Blue held the advantage in shots (14-9), shots on goal (8-6) and corner kicks (7-5).
LAST GAME
- Fell to University of the Cumberlands 2-1 in overtime Saturday evening in Williamsburg, Kentucky.
- The Golden Bears are now 4-2 in 2016 while the Patriots hold a record of 6-3.
- Senior Alexandra Klein scored quick for the Gold and Blue off a free kick in the ninth minute.
- The teams remained scoreless until Cumberlands knotted the contest 1-1 with six minutes left to play, forcing bonus soccer.
- With the golden goal rule in effect during overtime, Cumberlands struck in the 96th minute to end the match-up and take the victory.
- Junior Martha Reyna (4-2) had five saves in the loss after 96 minutes of play.
- As a team, Tech recorded ten shots with two on goal while the Patriots had 14 shots, eight on goal.

RIVER STATES CONFERENCE PRESEASON POLL (MEN'S)
- Picked sixth in the 2016 River States Conference Men's Cross Country Preseason Coaches' Poll with 59 points as announced by the league.
- The University of Rio Grande returns some of the top individuals from last year's conference championship meet and thus was picked as the favorite with four of the 11 first-place votes and a conference-best 93 points in the voting.
- The poll was conducted with voting from the conference's 11 men's cross country head coaches.
- Coaches were not permitted to vote for their own teams.
- The River States Conference was known as the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference until July 1, 2016 when the league changed its name.
RIVER STATES CONFERENCE PRESEASON POLL (WOMEN'S)
- The top five spots in the 2016 River States Conference (RSC) Women's Cross Country Preseason Coaches' Poll reflect the top five finishers at last year's conference meet with WVU Tech predicted fourth (81 points) and IU Kokomo predicted fifth (76 points).
- Defending conference champion Point Park University was on top at the end of last year and starts this season predicted first.
