BECKLEY, West Virginia -- The Golden Bears dropped a 2-0 decision to NCAA DII foe Salem International University Monday evening in Beckley, West Virginia. WVU Tech now holds a record of 6-8-2 while the Tigers move to 8-6-2 in 2017.
Tech finished with two shots on frame, one each from senior
Francisco Neto and sophomore
Manuel Garcia, while the Tigers managed four.
Salem International's goals were credited to Federico Toschi (12') and Sjoerd Schobbers (27').
Sophomore
Jorge Martinez (2-2) suffered the loss after the start, a stop and 45 minutes of play protecting the Gold and Blue's goal. Freshman
Jose Domingo Xam-mar stepped in during the second half, marking one save and zero goals allowed.
WVU Tech will return to River States Conference (RSC) play to finish out the regular season when they host Asbury University (Thursday) and Cincinnati Christian University (Saturday) for Senior Day.
