- Dropped a 3-2 battle to River States Conference (RSC) opponent Cincinnati Christian University Saturday afternoon.
- The Golden Bears are now 21-11, 4-8 (RSC) while the Eagles move to 9-15, 4-7 (RSC) after set scores of 19-25, 25-18, 25-21, 15-25 and 10-15.
- Freshman Lauren McCall led the attack, tying her career-high, with 22 kills.
- Junior Kayla Hill marked 13 kills, also matching her career-high, while sophomore Katelyn Byrd finished with nine.
- Sophomore libero Alice Amitrano picked up 15 digs while fellow classmate Konstantina Pateli had 13.
- Pateli also marked a match-high 48 assists to go with six kills and four service aces.
- Sophomore Emily Kidd led Tech with two block solos while putting down four kills.

LAST GAME
- Freshman Domenica Moncayo marked her first and second collegiate goals to help WVU Tech blank Carlow University 2-0 in River States Conference (RSC) action Saturday afternoon.
- The Golden Bears, who are tied for first in the RSC with Asbury, now hold a record of 10-5-1, 5-1-1 (RSC) while the Celtics move to 7-6-2, 2-4-2 (RSC).
- Moncayo's first goal came in the 83rd minute from an unassisted header she followed up off the post.
- The second and final score of the game came in minute 85 when the Cumbaya, Quito, Ecuador native connected with sophomore Clarice Taylor who had the assist.
- In goal, senior keeper Martha Reyna made four stops in her third shutout in 2017 after 90 minutes of play.
- The team combined for 13 shots on goal including a team-high three from senior Olivia Mantohbang.
- The Celtics finished with four shots on frame.

LAST RSC GAME
- Senior Francisco Neto earned his second hat trick of the season in WVU Tech's 8-0 shutout victory over Carlow University Saturday afternoon during River States Conference (RSC) action.
- The Golden Bears boost their record to 6-7-2, 5-1-1 (RSC) while the Celtics move to 0-14-2, 0-6-1 (RSC).
- Tech saw five goal scorers in the win including three from Neto (9', 14', 64').
- Junior Murray Kinnaird marked two goals (15', 84') while fellow classmate Santiago Cruz (19'), senior Mark Magallanes (32') and sophomore Sergio Sanchez (60') had one each.
- The Golden Bears' assists were credited to junior Matias Pazos, sophomores Alvaro Tina and Eduardo Gutierrez (2) and Sanchez (2).
- Sophomore keeper Jorge Martinez (2-1) earned the shutout win protecting the goal after 45 minutes of play.
- Freshman Jose Domingo Xam-mar made one save for the Gold and Blue in the second half.
- As a team, Tech tallied 23 shots on goal including a game-high five from Neto.
- Gutierrez finished with two on frame while Kinnaird, Sanchez and Pazos had two each.

RSC PRESEASON COACHES' POLL
- The preseason poll and preseason all-conference team were voted on by the conference's 13 head coaches.
- There are six teams in the RSC East and seven in the RSC West.
- The coaches' poll predicted the teams overall top to bottom of all 13 teams in the conference and also by division.
- The preseason all-conference team identified the top 10 players in the conference this preseason.
- WVU Tech, which was 23-9 last year and reached the national tournament, is picked third in the overall poll and second in the RSC East.
- The Golden Bears were in the NAIA DII Top 25 for much of the season and ended the year "receiving votes."
- The 10 players on the RSC Men's Basketball Preseason All-Conference Team come from 10 different schools.
- Seven of them are seniors and the other three are juniors.
- Returning players from last year's postseason all-conference teams were voted upon for this honor.
- Tech's senior Elisha Boone was named to the Preseason All-Conference Team.
