LAURINBURG, North Carolina -- WVU Tech basketball dropped a three-game series at St. Andrews University Friday and Saturday, 0-3. The Golden Bears dropped the games with scores of 8-3, 4-3 and 23-14. Tech now holds a record of 2-5 this season while the Knights are 5-4.

The Golden Bears managed five hits in the loss including two from senior
Chris Davidson. Davidson, who hit a double, also scored two runs for the Golden Bears.

Tanner Levine drove in two runs off a double while junior
Wyatt Belinda also picked up a RBI.
Redshirt freshman
Ryan Bayle (0-1) was dealt the loss on the mound after 1.2 innings of work including a strike out and one earned run. Junior Jerod Jobs earned the start, pitching 3.1 innings, giving up 10 hits and six earned runs while striking out one batter.

Tech scored three runs on two hits including one from Levine (a triple) and one from Belinda. Levine crossed the plate twice for the Golden Bears while senior
Alex Kotheimer scored one run.
On the bases, Kotheimer picked up a stolen base and so did junior
Abraham Alejandro.
Senior
Jayson Sykora pitched 3.1 innings for the loss, striking out five batters while giving up six hits and four earned runs. Fellow classmate
Jarron Monroe finished out the game (2.2 innings) on the mound, striking out one Knight.

In a game that totaled 37 runs and 47 hits, Tech produced 21 of the hits including a 5-for-6 effort at the plate for senior
Brady Groesbeck who hit a home run and a double. Groesbeck also drove in three runs while crossing the plate once himself.
Belinda, senior
Doug Prather and freshman
Jacob Reimold had four hits each. Belinda had two RBI and two runs scored, Prather finished with two runs scored and a RBI and Reimold marked two doubles, three runs and a RBI.
Levine was 3-for-6 at the plate towards three RBI and two runs including a double and a home run. Senior
Trevor Lam also hit a double in the loss.
Davidson was given the loss in the circle, pitching 2.0 innings, giving up 12 hits and ten earned runs while striking out one batter.
The team will next travel to Lenoir-Rhyne University for a three-game series February 18-19 in Hickory, North Carolina.
