CHARLESTON, West Virginia -- WVU Tech baseball was edged by University of Charleston, 2-1, Tuesday evening at Power Park in Charleston, West Virginia. The Golden Bears are now 15-12 this season while the Golden Eagles move to 12-6.
Charleston jumped out to an early 1-0 lead over Tech in the first inning after a Golden Eagle single drove a run in. UC's final run came in the fourth off a single from Taylor Itnyre that scored Tristan Fields.

Brady Groesbeck drove in fellow classmate
Tanner Levine. Levine reached base off a one-out double down the right field line.
Freshman
Jacob Reimold led the team with a 3-for-4 effort at the plate.
Levine finished 2-for-4 at the dish with a run scored and a double while Groesbeck recorded the lone RBI.
On the bases, junior
Wyatt Belinda recorded a steal.
Junior
Nick Brumfield (1-1) drew the start on the mound, scattering six hits and two earned runs while retiring two Golden Eagles via strikes. Brumfield threw for 6.0 innings.

Dalton Grisell was solid on relief for WVU Tech, pitching three scoreless innings after striking out four UC batters.
The team will return to conference play Friday and Saturday when they travel to University of Rio Grande for a four-game River States Conference series.
