VERSAILLES, Kentucky -- WVU Tech and Midway University split a River States Conference (RSC) baseball doubleheader Sunday afternoon on Chandler Field in Versailles, Kentucky.
The Golden Bears (17-20, 11-9 RSC) dropped the first game 3-4 after nine innings before taking the night cap, 5-4, over the Eagles (19-14, 16-4).
Midway took the RSC Games of the Week four-game series 3-1 and is currently first in the conference standings while Tech is sitting at No. 4, five games back.

The Gold and Blue recorded five hits in the loss including one each from seniors

Levine recorded a double and a run scored while the remaining runs were scored by pinch runners freshman

Abraham Alejandro.

Sebastian Gomez Herrera who had a sacrifice fly.
Junior
Jarron Monroe started on the mound, putting in 4.0 innings of work while scattering five hits and two earned runs. Monroe retired six Eagles via strikes.
Redshirt-junior
Garrison Vandeventer (1-3-6) was dealt the loss after 3.0 innings. Vandeventer gave up three hits and zero earned runs while striking out four batters.

Senior
Marcus Rodriguez (2-0) stayed undefeated on the mound after pitching 2.1 innings in the victory. Rodriguez gave up just one hit while striking out three batters.
Fellow senior
Chris Davidson threw before Rodriguez for 4.2 innings. Davidson struck out three batters while giving up seven hits and four earned runs.
Senior
Doug Prather and Belinda finished 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Golden Bears. Prather drove in two runs off a triple and scored a run himself. Belinda posted two RBI.
The team will continue RSC play April 8-9 when they play host to (RV) Indiana University Southeast for a four-game series in Beckley, West Virginia at Linda K. Epling Stadium.
