SOUTH CHARLESTON, West Virginia -- The WVU Tech softball team received another complete-game victory pitching performance from senior
Mackenzie Wilson and a win from freshman
Karina Atanacio in the circle to sweep a doubleheader over visiting Asbury University, 7-2 and 7-6, on Senior Day Friday. The River States Conference (RSC) series was played at Little Creek Park in South Charleston, West Virginia.
Seniors
Genna Trippett,
Adriana Rosendo,
Lexi Huck and Wilson were celebrated after the Golden Bears boosted their record to 10-25, 6-4 (RSC) while the Eagles moved to 7-17, 2-8 (RSC).
As a team, Tech cranked out a total 19 hits in the doubleheader and walked just one batter from the pitching circle. Junior
Kayla Harbin had a banner day, recording four RBI off of three hits including a two-run home run and a double. Harbin also crossed the plate twice herself.

Wilson struck out a season-high eight batters in Friday's opener, allowing just two earned runs while giving up eight hits.
Juniors
Hannah Calhoun,
MaKayla Waugh and Harbin finished with two hits each to lead the team.
Calhoun and Harbin both blasted two-run home runs to record two RBI each while freshman
Madeline Olson batted two runs in off a double.
Sophomore
Skylar Connelly knocked a double and scored two runs for the Gold and Blue.

Trippett drew the start in the final contest, striking out one Eagle while scattering three hits and zero earned runs.
Atanacio put in 3.2 innings of work in the circle for the win, allowing just one earned run while striking out two batters.
At the plate, three Golden Bears produced two hits each including Connelly, Huck and sophomore
Sarah Dohn.
Connelly had a double and a triple towards her two RBI and two runs scored.
Harbin, who had two RBI and a run scored, and Trippett, who scored a run, marked a double each. Waugh also finished with two RBI.
Tech will finish out the week tomorrow, Saturday when they host Midway University at Poca High School. First pitch of the RSC doubleheader is scheduled for 2 p.m. The Golden Bears will recognize their seniors between games.
