- The Golden Bear volleyball team defeated University of Cincinnati Clermont (3-0) and Alice Lloyd College (3-0).
- The wins give the Gold and Blue a quick 2-0 winning record to begin their 2017 campaign.
- Sophomore Konstantina Pateli combined for 68 assists and seven aces.
- The Athens, Greece native also had a hitting percentage of .727 (8-for-11) while picking up 11 digs total.
RSC COACHES' PRESEASON POLL
- The University of Rio Grande is the consensus favorite for the 2017 River States Conference Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- The RedStorm, coming off a 21-2-2 record and NAIA national runner-up finish in 2016, got every possible first-place vote in the RSC voting conducted by the league's coaches.
- Rio Grande was voted as the top team by all nine of the other coaches in the conference and earned the highest possible vote total of 81.
- WVU Tech (18-3-2 in 2016) is second in the RSC preseason poll.
- The Golden Bears received 73 votes and the remaining first-place tally.
- WVU Tech spent much of last year ranked as well and reached the final 16 teams of the NAIA national tournament before losing in overtime.
- The Golden Bears tied Rio Grande in last year's regular season at 7-0-1 RSC.

RSC COACHES' PRESEASON POLL
- Point Park University is the favorite in the 2017 River States Conference Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- WVU Tech came in fourth in the voting and received a first-place vote.
- The Golden Bears were a playoff team last year at 2-3-3 RSC and received 55 points in the voting.
