- The Golden Bears took game one 25-11 before falling 23-25 in set two.
- Tech finished the match after 25-13 and 25-15 set four and five scores respectively.
- Senior Bailey Lotozo led the attack with a match- and season-high 17 kills.
- Lotozo also marked four digs and a block solo.
- The Gold and Blue outserved their opponent, recording 13 service aces compared to one Rams' ace while also leading in kills (54-36), assists (52-35), blocks (7-4) and digs (42-37).

- Senior Francisco Neto had a team-best three shots, two of which were on goal.
- Junior Matias Pazos and sophomore Eduardo Gutierrez marked two attempts on frame each.
- Freshman Lewis Everett (0-0-1) made his collegiate debut, marking six saves in net after 110 minutes of play.
- Tech had the advantage in shots (11-10) including shots on goal (8-6) while Taylor took the lead on corner kicks (7-5).

LAST GAME
- WVU Tech women's soccer had a thrilling start to the season as they pulled together an overtime comeback win, 3-2, against the University of Pikeville.
- The Golden Bears were trailing 2-0 heading into the second half before scores from senior Ruby Bingham, freshman Johanna Ribacke and the golden goal from freshman Patricia Fisher gave Tech the victory.
- Bingham marked the Gold and Blue's first goal of the season off a penalty kick awarded in the 64th minute.
- The Melbourne, Australia native finished the game with four shots (three on goal) towards the teams 30 shots (21 on goal) total.
- Ribacke was assisted by sophomore Miriam Cortez, just four minutes after Bingham netted hers, to find the back of the net and knot the score with Pikeville, 2-2.
- The game-winning goal came off a perfect pass from sophomore Maria Gonzalez which connected with Fisher to finish the game after 95:07.
- The score marks Fisher's first collegiate goal.
- The freshman also led the team with seven shots while putting four on frame.
- Senior Martha Reyna (1-0) protected the goal, posting two saves after a complete game.
