BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech volleyball defeated NCAA DII opponent West Virginia State University, 3-0, Tuesday evening in Van Meter Gym. The Golden Bears are enjoying a six-match winning streak after set scores of 25-22, 25-27 and 25-17. Tech boost their overall record to 15-3 while the Yellow Jackets are 5-5 in 2017.
Senior
Bailey Lotozo led the attack with 12 kills for the Gold and Blue. The Thornville, Ohio native has racked up a team-high 178 so far this season.
Sophomore
Konstantina Pateli, who is 18 away from her 2,000
th career assist, dished out a match-best 34. Pateli also marked four of Tech's nine service aces and five kills. The Athens, Greece native currently has two top-20 national (NAIA) rankings including No. 14 with 10.630 assists per game and No. 16 with 31 total service aces.
On defense, freshman libero
Sawyer Hawgood led the match with 14 digs to go with three assists. At the net, sophomore
Carolina Bologna produced two block solos while freshman
Michaela Hall and Pateli had one each.

Lauren McCall ended with 11 kills while junior
Ana Monteiro posted nine and Bologna had six. Sophomore
Alice Amitrano marked six digs for Tech.
The team will next travel to Appalachian Bible College on Thursday for a 7 p.m match-up, marking the final contest before Tech begins River States Conference (RSC) play. The Golden Bears kick off their RSC run when they face Indiana University East on the road Saturday, September 23.
