RICHMOND, Indiana -- Sophomore
Konstantina Pateli marked her 2,000
th career assist as WVU Tech volleyball dropped a River States Conference (RSC) battle to Indiana University East, 3-2. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 16-4, 0-1 (RSC) in 2017 while the Red Wolves move to 9-13, 3-0 (RSC).
After Tech took the first two sets, 25-23 (each), IU East answered back with three straight set wins, 21-25, 21-25 and 15-17.
Pateli now has a career total 2,033 assists after recording a team-best 50 to go with 13 digs, four block assists, three service aces and two kills. The Athens, Greece native currently holds two top 15 rankings in the nation (NAIA) including No. 6 in total service aces (40) and No. 14 in total assists (706).

Bailey Lotozo and freshman
Lauren McCall finished with 16 kills each while junior
Ana Monteiro had 11 and sophomore
Carolina Bologna and freshman
Michaela Hall had eight each for Tech's top offensive contributors.
Bologna led the defense at the net with six block assists. Hall recorded five while McCall had four block assists.
In the back row, Monteiro picked up a team-high 24 digs while freshman libero
Sawyer Hawgood posted 19 and sophomore
Roytihala Brown had nine.
The team will return to the court for more RSC action when they host Carlow University Tuesday, September 26 in Van Meter Gym. The first serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Beckley, West Virginia.
