BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech volleyball has continued their momentum, improving to 7-1 in 2017 after a 3-0 victory over Appalachian Bible College in Van Meter Gym Tuesday evening. The Golden Bears defeated the Warriors (0-1) 25-7, 25-8 and 25-11.
Senior
Bailey Lotozo led the attack with eight kills while freshman
Lauren McCall tallied six and juniors
Ana Monteiro had five and
Kayla Hill four.
Freshman
Adrianna Mitchem had a standout match handling the ball, marking 20 assists for the Golden Bears. Fellow classmate libero
Sawyer Hawgood picked up a match-best 11 digs.
As a team, the Gold and Blue totaled 15 service aces including Monteiro, Hawgood (2), McCall (3), Lotozo (2), Hill (2) and sophomores
Carolina Bologna (3) and
Konstantina Pateli (2).
The team will next travel to Athens, West Virginia for the Concord Classic September 8-9. Tech will face Shaw University, Salem International University, Ohio Valley University and West Virginia Wesleyan College during the Classic.
