DANVILLE, Virginia -- The Golden Bear grapplers dropped a 26-18 decision in dual action Wednesday evening at Averett University.

The Lead: Redshirt senior Bryan Overton scored a fall (0:36) over Corbin Ryder at 174 lbs.

Highlights:

• Senior Corey Palmer defeated Jake Phelps with a technical fall, 20-5, 6:32 at 165 lbs.
• Sophomore Will Van Hoose wrestled at 197 lbs. and earned an 11-2 major decision over Triston Kechter.
• Senior Tristan Bean captured a victory, SV-1, 3-1, over Brandon Woody at 133 lbs.

Up Next: The Gold and Blue host a tri-meet in Van Meter Gym Saturday with Alderson Broaddus University and Reinhardt University.
