RIO GRANDE, Ohio -- (RV) WVU Tech men's soccer suffered its first loss in 2018 at No. 5 University of Rio Grande, 3-0, Thursday evening. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 10-1-4, 4-1-1 (RSC) while the RedStorm move to 12-0, 6-0 (RSC).
Rio struck quickly for its first goal, coming from Nicolas Cam Orellana in the fourth minute. The final two goals of the contest came in the second half from Manyumow Achol (84') and Callum Malanaphy (88').
As a team, Tech finished with four shots, one on goal while the RedStorm had 12 shots, five on frame. Junior
Alvaro Tina posted the Gold and Blue's shot on goal.

Jose Domingo Xam-mar made two stops and allowed three goals after 90 minutes of protecting the net for Tech. Rio's keeper, Richard Dearle, had one save after the complete game victory.
The team returns to play October 20 for Senior Day when they host Ohio Christian University for more conference play in Beckley, West Virginia.
