BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech volleyball has boosted its record to 20-5, 4-2 (RSC) after defeating Carlow University (6-11, 1-4 RSC) 3-0 in River States Conference (RSC) play Friday evening. The Golden Bears won with scores of 25-11, 25-16 and 25-15.
On defense, sophomore libero
Sawyer Hawgood led the team with ten digs to go with two assists. Senior
Ana Monteiro and junior
Konstantina Pateli picked up seven digs each.
Pateli also marked a match-high 27 assists to go with three block solos, three block assists, two service aces and two kills.
Junior
Carolina Bologna and sophomore
Ana Alonso Olea recorded a match-best eight kills each. Freshman
Valentina Abondano finished with five kills.
The team stays at home tomorrow, Saturday for more conference action as they host Point Park University at noon in Van Meter Gym.
