RIO GRANDE, Ohio -- WVU Tech (5-1) men's basketball opened up the Bevo Francis Invitational Tournament with an 87-84 victory over Washington Adventist University (1-3) Friday afternoon. The tournament in Ohio is hosted by University of Rio Grande.
Tech saw five Golden Bears hit double-digits on offense including a team-high 18 points from sophomore
Junior Arrey.
Arrey also recorded three rebounds, three assists and two steals while finishing 7-for-9 at the bonus line.
Senior
Brandon Shingles posted 17 points and three assists while fellow classmate
Tommy Collins had 13 points and two rebounds.
Senior
Elisha Boone marked another double-double with a game-high 13 rebounds and 12 points while dishing a game-best seven assists.
Coming off the bench, junior
Dominik King poured in 12 points.
Tech will finish out the tournament tomorrow, Saturday when they face University of Michigan-Dearborn at 1 p.m.
