BECKLEY, West Virginia -- Men's basketball came away with a 107-87 River States Conference (RSC) win over Carlow University Tuesday evening. WVU Tech moves to 18-10, 11-5 (RSC) while the Celtics hold a record of 5-19, 5-10 (RSC).
The team had a balanced offense with six Golden Bears finishing in double-digits including a team-best 25 points from junior
Thomas Collins. Collins was a perfect 8-for-8 from the bonus line and also had five rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Freshman
Tamon Scruggs came off the bench to pour in 19 points to go with six boards. Junior
Brandon Shingles finished with 16 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two each of blocks and steals.
Senior
Michael Scott had a 13 points, three rebounds and two blocks showing while junior
Kevin Thomas-Griffin recorded 11 points, two boards and two assists.
Freshman
Andreas Jönsson rounded out the top offensive contributors with ten points while dishing five assists.
As a team, Tech finished nearly flawless at the bonus line with a 95.5 percent (21-for-22) effort including perfect shooting from Collins, Scott, Shingles, Thomas-Griffin and Scruggs.
The Gold and Blue will finish the regular season on Saturday, February 17 when they host RSC opponent Point Park University for Senior Day.
