CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio -- Men's basketball now boasts a four-game winning streak after an 89-84 River States Conference (RSC) victory over Ohio Christian University Tuesday evening. (RV) WVU Tech boosts their record to 17-9, 10-4 (RSC) while the Trailblazers move to 10-15, 6-8 (RSC).
Junior
Thomas Collins was the leading scorer for the Golden Bears with 28 points while grabbing five rebounds. Fellow classmate
Brandon Shingles recorded 21 points and pulled down five boards.
Senior
Michael Scott now has six consecutive double-doubles after a 14 points, 10 rebound effort. Freshman
Tamon Scruggs rounds out the top offensive contributors with 11 points to go with eight rebounds.
The team finished 49.3 percent (35-for-71) from the floor while the Trailblazers shot 44.3 percent (31-for-70). Tech dominated under the boards, marking 40 rebounds compared to their opponent's 27.
WVU Tech returns home Saturday to host Indiana University East in the Beckley Raleigh County Convention Center for more conference play.
