RIO GRANDE, Ohio -- WVU Tech baseball (7-22, 3-9 RSC) picked up a 5-4 River States Conference (RSC) victory over (RV) University of Rio Grande (14-17, 8-4 RSC) Sunday afternoon.
Rio Grande took the series, 1-2, after defeating the Gold and Blue 2-5 and 0-6 Friday in Beckley, West Virginia.

Juan Perez led the way at the plate for Tech, finishing 3-for-4 toward three RBI.

Jerod Jobst (1-4) earned his first win on the bump this season after throwing 7.0 innings. The Dunbar, West Virginia native struck out four batters while giving up just two earned runs and four hits.

Wyatt Belinda (1-0-1) was awarded the save after 0.2 innings of work.

Garrison Vandeventer also saw action on the mound, retiring two batters via strikes after throwing 1.2 innings.
Tech will take a break from conference play when they play host to Montreat College Tuesday for a doubleheader scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
