PIKEVILLE, Kentucky -- WVU Tech baseball split a doubleheader with University of Pikeville Tuesday, winning game one 9-7 before falling in the night cap 7-1. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 4-13 while the Bears move to 11-8.

Wyatt Belinda led the way at the plate for Tech, finishing 3-for-4 towards a double, three RBI and two runs scored.
Freshmen
Kent Rooklin and
Jacob Dingess also had a multi-hit game with two a piece to go with a RBI each.Â
Sophomore
Dariel Torres knocked a triple towards a RBI and run scored. Freshman
Calen Owens drove in two runs and marked a sac fly.
On the mound, redshirt senior
Garrison Vandeventer (1-1) earned the W after 3.2 innings of work, striking out one batter.
Redshirt sophomore
Trey Dalton struck out two Bears while junior
Jarrod Woodyard recorded one strike out.

The Gold and Blue managed five hits including one each from sophomores
Brian Schack and
Jacob Reimold, Belinda, Vandeventer and Dingess.
Reimold's knock was a double. The lone Golden Bear RBI was credited to sophomore
Kurt Latocha and Owens crossed the plate for Tech's run.
Freshman
Matt Silverstein (0-1) was dealt the loss after three innings, striking out two batters.
Tech returns home for River States Conference (RSC) play Friday and Saturday against Ohio Christian University at Linda K. Epling Stadium.
