Golden Bears drop game one to Trailblazers

BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech lost their first contest of three against Ohio Christian University 5-8 in a nine-inning game. The Golden Bears (4-14, 0-4 RSC) and Trailblazers (4-14, 1-3 RSC) will return to action tomorrow for a doubleheader to finish the River States Conference (RSC) series.

Tech managed seven hits as a team including two each from senior Wyatt Belinda and freshman Alex Tennant.

Tennant and Bryton Dean and junior Sean Crosby had one RBI each. Belinda and Tennant both tallied a triple.

On the bases, redshirt freshman Jacob Dingess recorded a steal.

Redshirt senior Garrison Vandeventer (1-2) earned the loss after 2.0 innings while striking out one batter. Sophomore Michael Rotenberry was up first to pitch with six strike outs.
