Men's Soccer

BECKLEY, West Virginia -- Freshman Jaime Rodriguez and junior Rolando Sanchez connected twice to secure Rodriguez's first and second collegiate goals and WVU Tech's third win this season, 2-0, over St. Andrews University. After 90 minutes of play in Beckley, West Virginia Saturday afternoon, the Golden Bears move to 3-0-1 in 2018 while the Knights hold a record of 0-3.

A native of Madrid, Spain, Rodriguez received a pass from Sanchez with just 26 seconds taken off the clock for the lone goal in the first half. Sanchez's second assist was marked in the second half (76') when he found Rodriguez again who put the ball past St. Andrew's keeper, Valentino Parini.

The team finished with three shots on goal including two from Rodriguez and one from junior Jesus Naves. St. Andrews tallied just one shot on frame.

Junior Jose Domingo Xam-mar (3-0-1) is still undefeated defending the net for Tech, stopping one opponent attempt in the complete game. Parini also made one save for the Knights.

The Gold and Blue continue their three-game home stand when they host University of the Cumberlands Wednesday, September 5.
