Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Tech stays unbeaten after 1-1 2OT tie at Point Park

Men's Soccer

PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania -- WVU Tech (8-0-4, 2-0-1 RSC) who remains unbeaten in 12 games and has been "receiving votes" in the NAIA Top 25 all year found themselves with another tie as they ended 1-1 after double overtime at Point Park University (5-4-1, 1-2-1 RSC) Saturday evening.

Tech had control of the shots with a 27-7 advantage in that department. Point Park had just one shot on goal, which was posted by Marc Bentley (80'). It was just the sixth goal of the year given up by WVU Tech.

The Gold and Blue put 11 shots on goal, but the only one that went in was from junior Jesus Naves. That came fairly early in the 11th minute and off the assist from fellow classmate Sergio Sanchez.

Junior Jose Domingo Xam-mar protected the net for the full 110 minutes, allowing just one goal. Point Park's Juan Somoza also was the keeper the entire game and was forced to make ten Golden Bear attempts.

During Homecoming week at Tech, the Golden Bears will host RSC opponents Brescia University (October 4) and Cincinnati Christian University (Ocotber 6) in Beckley, West Virginia.
