BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech volleyball defeated UVA Wise (3-0) and Bluefield State College (3-0) Thursday afternoon to kick off the first day of the Concord Classic. The Golden Bears move to 9-3 in 2018.
In the first match of the Concord Classic, junior
Konstantina Pateli tallied her 3,000
th assist and helped Tech to their eighth win of the season.

.Pateli finished with 36 assists, two kills, three digs and a block solo.
Fellow junior
Carolina Bologna put down a match-high 11 kills to go with three block solos, a service ace and two digs.
Seven kills, each, were awarded to senior
Ana Monteiro, freshman
Valentina Abondano and junior
Katelyn Byrd.
Monteiro picked up a team-best nine digs while sophomore
Sawyer Hawgood had seven and Abondano had six.

Michaela Hall led the attack with six kills towards a .556 hitting percentage. Freshman
Abigail Hill put down five kills while Bologna and sophomore Ana Olonso Olea had four each.

Michaella Guyot-Polverini handled the ball and dished out 15 assists.
The team will finish their four-game stand in the Concord Classic when they travel to Athens, West Virginia Saturday for two matches.
