RIO GRANDE, Ohio -- No. 12 WVU Tech men's basketball earned a 78-73 River States Conference (RSC) road win at University of Rio Grande Thursday night. The Golden Bears boost their record to 15-3, 6-1 (RSC) while the RedStorm move to 7-12, 1-5 (RSC).
Senior
Elisha Boone led all scorers and rebounders with a double-double effort of 29 points and 15 rebounds.
Sophomore
Junior Arrey also hit double-digits for the Gold and Blue, pouring in 14 points to go with seven rebounds.
As a team, Tech was held to 40.0 percent (20-for-50) from the field while Rio Grande shot 50.9 percent (28-for-55). The Golden Bears held the slight advantage in rebounds, 36-33.
Up next, WVU Tech will host Alice Lloyd College on Tuesday, January 15 for a GOLD RUSH in the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center. Fans are encouraged to wear GOLD in support of the Golden Bears.
